Golfer of the Year

Daniel Kefale, Osbourn Park, Senior

• Became the fifth player in the past 40 years to win VSGA Junior Amateur and state high school titles in the same year when he rallied to win the Virginia AAA individual championship by one stroke, shooting a two-day total of 144 (74-70).

• Won Cedar Run District for the third straight year and defended his Northwestern Region title by shooting a 3-under 69. Also won the two-day Quantico Invitational (71-66).

• Three-time All-Extra golfer of the year signed with the University of Virginia.

Coach of the Year

Barry Sudduth, Osbourn

• Made a successful return to coaching golf this season, leading Eagles to the regular season title in the challenging Cedar Run District.

• Osbourn became first team other than Osbourn Park to win a regular season or tournament title since Cedar Run's inception in 2001.

First Team

Mike Braun, Osbourn Park, Sr. -- Yellow Jackets' No. 2 golfer finished fifth to help team repeat as Cedar Run District tournament champions. Only golfer besides Kefale to shoot round under par at Quantico Invitational. Will attend University of Mississippi.

Jake Engle, Stonewall Jackson, Sr. -- Repeat All-Extra shot a second-day 72 to finish fourth individually in the 12-team Bryan Gunter Invitational in Winchester. Raiders' most consistent player shot 3-under par against Brentsville.

Brad Howard, Forest Park, Sr. -- With a booming drive off the tee, the Cardinal District individual champion led the Bruins to their second straight team title. Repeat All-Extra shot 77 in Northwestern Region tournament to become first Bruin to earn state berth.

Alan MacMullin, Osbourn Park, Jr. -- Repeat All-Extra selection overcame shoulder injury to shoot 77 in Northwestern Region tournament to qualify for state tournament.

Nathan Manis, Osbourn, Sr. -- Three-time All-Extra was fourth in Northwestern Region (76) and Cedar Run District (77) and made his second career appearance in state meet, finishing tied for 14th.

Nathan Rycroft, Woodbridge, Sr. -- Repeat All-Extra and team captain finished with a 75.3 stroke average for Cardinal District runner-up squad. Finished seventh at North Stafford and 13th at Heritage invitationals.
