Georgetown junior forward Brandon Bowman has submitted his name for the NBA draft, but has taken steps to preserve his final season of college eligibility.
Bowman, the Hoyas' leading scorer, will not hire an agent, and he remains enrolled in classes at Georgetown, which means that he can withdraw his name from the draft by June 21 and still retain his college eligibility for next season. The NBA draft takes place June 28.
"He wants to test the waters, and after he gets a feel for where he stands, he'll make a decision," said Georgetown Coach John Thompson III. "He will go through the process and make a decision later."
Bowman was among the team leaders in virtually every statistical category and was named third-team all-Big East. He averaged 15.1 points and 6.1 rebounds for the Hoyas, who finished 19-13 and advanced to the NIT quarterfinals.
