Life in Ethiopia
JOHN AUCHARD'S article on Ethiopia ["Into Ethiopian Air," April 3] was refreshing, terrific and informative. It far surpasses any travel article I have read. Thank you for good Sunday-morning reading.

I ENJOYED your recent feature on Ethiopia. Your contributor managed to present an engaging story that simultaneously drew me into the culture and texture of the place while maintaining enough distance to comment effectively on the scene.
I'd never really considered visiting Ethiopia until I read that story, but now it's on my list. And for $6 a night, maybe I can stay for a month like your correspondent did!

I ENJOYED the article. When I was in Addis Ababa two years ago, I particularly enjoyed eating at two restaurants, the Habesha and the Fasika. At the Fasika, there was a display of dance from different regions of Ethiopia -- it was wonderful. The style of dance is so distinctive, all shoulders and neck.
Thanks for a stimulating article.
