SLOPES: 19 slopes, a 935-foot vertical drop and a long run of 4,900 feet.

COST: Adults $42 weekdays, $49 weekends and holidays, $31 nights; ages 6 to 12 $36 weekdays, $43 weekends and holidays, $26 nights; ages 65 and older half-price midweek and non-holidays..

SPECIAL NOTE: Tubing area fees are $10 one hour, $14 two hours midweek; $12 one hour, $16 two hours weekends. Children must be at least 5 years old.

Directions: From Washington the trip takes about 90 minutes. Take Interstate 270 north to I-70 west, Exit 18 (Route 68). Go through the traffic light in Clear Spring, Md. Follow the snowflake and Whitetail signs seven miles to the slopes.
Snowboarding: Allowed on all trails, plus a terrain park.
Cross-Country: None
Lodging: Off-resort lodging is available.
