SLOPES: 57 slopes and trails, a 1,500-foot vertical drop
and a long run of 1.5 miles.
COST: Adults $42 weekdays, $54 Friday-Sundays and $58 holidays; students with ID and seniors 60 and older $33 weekdays, $49 Fridays-Sundays, $58 holidays. Ages 6 through 12 $27 weekdays, $36 weekends and $39 holidays, $19 nights; ages 5 and younger free. Night skiing included in lift ticket price.
SPECIAL NOTE: Tubing rates are $12 for two hours. Other activities include snowmobile tours, sleigh rides, snowshoe treks and cross-country skiing.
Directions: From Washington the drive takes about five hours. Take Interstate 495 to I-66 west, exit at I-81 south. Take that to 55 west, then Route 28 south to Highway 66, go through Cass then 10 miles to Snowshoe Mountain.
Snowboarding: Allowed on all slopes, plus Mountaineer terrain park and half-pipe.
