SLOPES: 14 slopes, a 1,110-foot vertical drop and a long run of 4,100 feet.

COST: Adults $37 weekdays, $51 weekends and holidays, $25 nights; active military, ages 6 to 12 and 62 to 69 $32 weekdays, $41 weekends and holidays, $18 nights; ages 5 and younger free with paying adult; ages 70 and older free anytime.

SPECIAL NOTE: Nine-lane tubing area has a 900-foot run. Fee is $18. Passes are sold a day in advance and frequently sell out by 8 p.m. Call 800-207-6277 after 8 p.m. to check on next day's availability.

Directions: From Washington the drive takes about two hours. Take Interstate 495 to I-66 west and exit onto I-81 south to Harrisonburg (Exit 247A). Follow Route 33 east to Route 644. The entrance is on the left. (125 miles from Washington)
