DeMatha Student Chosen For Leadership Conference

DeMatha Catholic High School senior Brandon Peterson of Gaithersburg has been selected to participate in the National Young Leaders Conference, from Dec. 7 to 12 in Washington.

The conference is hosted by the Congressional Youth Leadership Council. It includes workshops, role-playing exercises and meetings with government and media leaders.

Peterson was selected based on academic achievement and leadership skills.

Event to Help Teachers Use Technology in Classes

Northwestern High School will host the eighth annual "Powering Up With Technology Conference" at 7:30 a.m. Saturday.

The conference, sponsored by the Prince George's County public schools, is designed to help educators integrate technology into their classrooms.

Veterans History Project Festivities at PGCC

Prince George's Community College will host a "Veterans History Project Celebration" as part of its Book Bridge project from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Wednesday. 301 Largo Rd., Largo. Call 301-322-0157.

Rummage Sale, Craft Fair At St. Vincent Pallotti

St. Vincent Pallotti High School will host a rummage sale and craft fair from 8 a.m. to noon Saturday. The school is at 113 St. Mary's Place, Laurel. Call 301-725-3228.

Photos of Simulated Manned Mission to Mars

Howard B. Owens Science Center will host a photo presentation of a simulated manned mission to Mars set to music in its planetarium at 7:30 p.m. Friday. $4 for adults, $2 for students and seniors. The center is at 9601 Greenbelt Rd., Lanham. Call 301-918-8750.
