Hyattsville Gets Funds To Make Schools Safer

The U.S. Department of Justice awarded the City of Hyattsville a $15,000 grant to help local law enforcement officials improve school safety. The grant is part of the Justice Department's Secure Our Schools program. The money will be used to buy crime-prevention equipment and to provide training to staff members and students.

Job Fair to Be Held At Community College

The Prince George's Job Service Employer Committee will host a free countywide job fair with Prince George's Community College and the Prince George's One-Stop Career Center for Veterans Unit, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Monday at the college's Largo Student Center. Employers scheduled to participate include Riggs Bank, Clinton Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Catholic University, Baltimore City Police Department, the Maryland Transportation Authority and others.
