The Louisiana race for the seat being vacated by Sen. John Breaux (D) may not be decided until a runoff Dec. 4. Rep. David Vitter (R) will face Rep. Chris John (D) or State Treasurer John Kennedy (D) in the runoff if Vitter does not win more than 50 percent of the November vote. The runoff looks as though it will be close.
