Annapolis Area

ROBBERIES

JENNIFER RD., 100 block, 10:47 a.m. March 10. A gunman robbed a store of cash, video games and video game systems, tied up employees in a back room and fled.

RIVA RD., 2600 block, 3:37 a.m. March 7. A man with a shaved head implied that he had a weapon and demanded drugs from a clerk in a pharmacy. The man fled in a red pickup truck empty-handed.

THEFTS/BREAK-INS

RIVA RD., 2600 block, 12:30 p.m. March 8. Two males took items from a pharmacy and walked out. When two employees followed them into the parking area, one of the shoplifters pulled out a knife and attempted to stab them. The thieves got into a vehicle, and an employee punctured one of its tires. The thieves fled in the vehicle. A witness in another vehicle followed the getaway vehicle onto Route 50 to the Route 424 exit, where police stopped it. A 43-year-old Upper Marlboro man and a 42-year-old Washington man were arrested.

Edgewater Area

GAMBLING

PYTHIAN DR., 1-100 block, March 10. Police seized three gambling machines and cash from an organization.

ROBBERIES

MAYO RD., 1-100 block, 6:32 p.m. March 4. A gunman wearing a black ski mask ordered employees and customers in a nail design shop to lie in the rear of the store. He took cash from them and the store and fled.

SOLOMONS ISLAND RD., 3000 block, 9:43 p.m. March 9. A male wearing a ski mask showed two handguns in a fast-food restaurant and ordered employees to empty cash drawers while he held the manager against an office door. He then ordered the manager to open a safe, then took cash from it and fled. A large amount of money found scattered in the parking lot was recovered.

Gambrills Area

ROBBERIES

BRANDERMILL BLVD., 2600 block, 7:33 p.m. March 8. Two males forced employees in an animal hospital to lie on the floor. Two employees ran to a back door and asked for help. The men took cash from a cash register, ran out the front door and fled in a teal car.

Glen Burnie Area

ASSAULTS

ROOSEVELT AVE., 100 block, 12:19 a.m. March 7. Three males with guns forced their way into a home, duct-taped seven residents and kept them in the basement. The intruders then ransacked the home and took cash. One resident was cut with a knife. He drove himself to a hospital.

ROBBERIES

HOSPITAL DR., March 9. A gunman and a male accomplice robbed a male of cash, then forced him to drive them in his vehicle to an ATM, where the victim did not obtain money. The robbers then forced him to drive to a grocery store on Crain Highway, and one robber accompanied the victim into the store. The victim withdrew cash from an ATM and gave it to the robber. He was then forced to drive to a video store on Crain Highway near Hospital Drive, where the robbers fled.

MOUNTAIN RD., 100 block, 7:19 p.m. Feb. 21. A man robbed a gas station of cash at knifepoint. Six days later, a similar robbery occurred at another gas station. On March 3, police arrested a man, 45, after an armed robbery at a third gas station, and he was charged in connection with all three robberies.

RITCHIE HWY., 6700 block, 9:44 p.m. March 3. A man armed with a knife banged on a plastic window of a clerk's enclosure in a gas station and demanded money. When the employee refused, the man tried unsuccessfully to open a door of the enclosure and banged on it, then fled. Five minutes later, police arrested a 35-year-old Glen Burnie man at a nearby construction site.
