Following is the roll call by which the Senate voted to open the ecologically rich Arctic National Wildlife Refuge to oil drilling. At issue was a section of the budget resolution anticipating revenue from the ANWR drilling. Opponents of drilling moved to kill the section and voted For. Supporters of drilling voted Against. By 51 to 49, opponents failed to knock oil drilling out of the budget resolution:
