The Color of Choice For St. Patrick's Day And Everyone Else's

Green is the new black -- especially today.

It's "an extremely versatile color for all seasons," says Jenn O'Brien of the aptly named Clover boutique in Gaithersburg. "With so many different shades, green looks great on all skin tones."

And it's the perfect complement to spring. "Green is significant of new growth," says Leatrice Eiseman, director of the Pantone Color Institute and author of "The Color Answer Book."

People look at green as a more neutral color, says Eiseman. (Pin that on Martha Stewart, who let us know it was okay to incorporate green into the home.) Now, emerald shoes and Kelly bags are a part of daily life.

Says Eiseman, "There is a comfort level with green."
