No Individual Blamed

A commission recently reported the intelligence lapses on Iraq's weapons of mass destruction to be "one of the most public -- and most damaging -- intelligence failures in recent American history." The Sept. 11 commission had said about the same thing about our intelligence preceding the attack on the United States. How can we have two colossal strikeouts 18 months apart with no consequences for those involved? How many commissions does it take to recognize that our intelligence gatherers might not be as screwed up as those responsible for interpreting and acting upon it? When is someone going to accept responsibility?
