The Mavericks' Jerry Stackhouse and the Jazz's Kirk Snyder were suspended a game without pay by the league yesterday for a postgame scuffle after Dallas's win over Utah on Saturday. Following the game, Stackhouse and Snyder scuffled in a hallway near the Jazz team bus.
Stackhouse was to serve his suspension when Dallas hosted Memphis last night. Snyder will serve his suspension when the Jazz visits the Clippers tonight.
THUMBS DOWN: The 76ers' Allen Iverson might miss tonight's game against Boston because of sprained thumbs. Iverson is still bothered by the thumb on his right hand, which forced him to miss Saturday's game against Washington.
"It's a lot better than it was on the day of the Wizards game, but the way I feel right now, I don't think so. I don't think I'll be able to go," Iverson said after sitting out yesterday's practice.
Iverson hurt his thumbs on separate plays in a victory over Cleveland on Friday night. He stayed in the game and scored 23 points with a career-high 16 assists. . . .
F Chris Webber sat out the last five games with a sprained left shoulder and missed yesterday's practice with an illness. He might return for tonight's game.
SHAQ BACK: The Heat's Shaquille O'Neal is expected to be back Thursday to face the 76ers after missing three games with a stomach virus, Coach Stan Van Gundy said.
