Named for the day of the week that most newspaper food sections are published, this Web site reads like a who's who of food-related musings.

Along the right-hand side of the homepage runs a long list of links, organized by category, to the predictable (glossy magazines, chef Web sites and newspaper food sections, both domestic and international), as well as the slightly less expected (snarky blogs, wine sites, food newsletters and efforts supporting sustainable cuisine).

Saute Wednesday began five years ago when San Francisco freelance writer Bruce Cole grew tired of constantly sending long lists of links to friends. Instead he registered the URL; today he writes occasional essays for the site and for 7 x 7 magazine.
