Krakow's Quiet Civility
Dear Dr. Gridlock:
I found traffic civility on a recent trip to Krakow, Poland, where horn-honking is strictly verboten. I was walking on a narrow, one-way street, admiring the buildings. Suddenly, I sensed a moving object behind me.
Instead of honking his horn, the driver had been following me at my pace. When I stepped aside to let him pass, we smiled. No road rage there.
P.S. -- The penalty for horn-honking is points; 24 points and one's license is taken away.

I wonder how the Krakow police department deals with illegally parked FedEx vans. Or how any other city or country, for that matter, deals with these transgressors. Are such commercial enterprises exempt from parking laws in other places, too?
The Inside Dirt
Dear Dr. Gridlock:
Here's an automobile tip:
When at the gas station, use the sponge/squeegee to clean not only the outside of your car windows but also the inside. I've found this is the best way to remove the bluish-gray film that develops on the inside of my front window.
Using this method is more effective than using spray cleaners, which tend to leave streaks.

I find it hard to get at the lower front windshield because of the depth of the airbags, but thanks for the tip.
