Alexandria Salutes! A USO Weekend
Free shuttle buses sponsored by the Alexandria Hotel Association will leave Market Square at 10 a.m., noon, 2 p.m. and 4 p.m. to take visitors to the National World War II Memorial in Washington. The buses will return to Market Square at 11 a.m., 1 p.m., 3 p.m. and 5 p.m.
The City of Alexandria will offer the opportunity to send free video e-mails to U.S. service personnel serving overseas. The USO of Metropolitan Washington will host an exhibit in Market Square and will offer the opportunity to contribute to the USO mission through www.alexandriacares.com. Other exhibits include one from the Calvert Marine Museum, a display of World War II military vehicles and the history of the American Red Cross in World War II.
In addition, American Legion Post 24 will host a memorial service to U.S. veterans from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. Sunday at Market Square. The USO Liberty Belles will offer a free performance in Alexandria's Del Ray neighborhood at 1 p.m. Sunday at the Mount Vernon Recreation Center, 2701 Commonwealth Ave.

» The USO Liberty Belles
With Victordance
This trio, reminiscent of the Andrews Sisters, performs with professional swing dancers throughout the weekend. Stella's Restaurant courtyard, 1725 Duke St., 5-6 p.m. Free.
» Alexandria Citizens Band
This local favorite performs show tunes, pop melodies and patriotic songs. Market Square, in front of City Hall, 301 King St., 7:30 -- 8:30 p.m. Free.
» USO Swing Dance
This fundraising event for the USO of Metropolitan Washington features swing music by the Tom Cunningham Orchestra, performances by the Liberty Belles and swing dancing by Tom & Debra. Torpedo Factory Arts Center, 105 N. Union St., 8 p.m. -- midnight. Tickets $20.

» Of Thee I Swing
Join Radio King Orchestra's Big Band and Flying Feet Enterprises for a musical journey of timeless and romantic music from the Greatest Generation performed in the circa 1914 Old Town Theatre. Flying Feet Enterprises will display their artistry of motion through dance styles visualizing the romance and essence of this captivating music. Old Town Theater, 815 1/2 King St. Performance at 8 p.m., doors open at 7 p.m. Tickets $22, available by calling 703-683-8888.
