Last Year: 12-2, No. 4Senior RB Matt Reidy, an All-Met who rushed for nearly 1,800 yards, is back for Maryland 4A champion. The defense, which shut out three teams and allowed four TDs in last five games, returns almost intact.

3.Centreville

Last Year: 6-4; not rankedThe Wildcats have seven returning starters on offense and seven on defense, six potential Division I recruits, including arguably the region's best linebacker (Peter McMurrer) and quarterback (Drew Dudzik).

4. Good Counsel

Last Year: 8-2; not rankedFourth-year coach Bob Milloy has his own players in place and has two of the WCAC's best linebackers back in Akeem Hebron and Tim Greany. RB Jerron Pearson (1,067, 13 TDs) also will be key.

5. Eleanor Roosevelt

Last Year: 12-1, No. 8The Raiders didn't lose many starters, but those that are gone are talented, including Derrick Harvey (now at Florida), Trey Covington (Maryland) and Theirrien Davis (Virginia). Still, they have QB Derrick Williams, considered by many to be the nation's top prospect.

6. Northwest

Last Year: 9-2, No. 19Expect plenty of points from Jaguars -- they'll start Ike Whitaker, a highly-regarded Division I recruit, at quarterback, along with RB Tony Nelson (Clemson) and WR Darren Brownlee (West Virginia).

7. Robinson

Last Year: 11-1; No. 9The Rams have been undefeated in the regular season three of the last four years, and feature Brent Jones, one of the Northern Region's best defensive ends. Won Northern Virginia's power lifting title last spring for 10th straight year.
