Animal Control enforces all animal control laws, responds to animal-related complaints and conducts investigations of cruelty and problem situations. Animal Control also provides shelter and care to all stray animals; licenses animals to help identify and return lost pets to their owner; participates in an adoption program to place stray, abandoned and unwanted animals in suitable new homes; and provides a weekly low-cost rabies clinic to the public. Hours: administration, 8:30 a.m.-4 p.m. Mondays-Fridays, 10 a.m.-3 p.m. Saturdays; pet viewing and adoption, 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Tuesdays-Fridays, 10 a.m.-3 p.m. Saturdays; rabies clinic, 1-4 p.m. Thursdays except holidays. $5 vaccination fee.

This nonprofit group works to protect animals from acts of cruelty and neglect. It operates an animal shelter and a mobile adoption unit. Hours: viewing and adoption, 11 a.m.-4 p.m. Tuesdays, Fridays, Saturday, Sundays; 2-7 p.m. Wednesdays and Thursdays; give-ups and other business, 9 a.m.-4 p.m. Mondays, Tuesdays, Fridays, Saturdays, Sundays; 9 a.m.-7 p.m. Wednesdays and Thursdays.
