4 Nats to Make an Appearance

Tuesday, February 1, 2005; Page D02

Four Washington Nationals players will join General Manager Jim Bowden at an autograph session for fans tomorrow afternoon, less than two weeks before pitchers and catchers are to report to spring training in Viera, Fla.

Shortstop Cristian Guzman and outfielder Jose Guillen will join closer Chad Cordero and starting pitcher Zach Day from 1 to 2 p.m. at ESPN Zone and be available for autographs.

Since MLB announced its plans to move a franchise to Washington, there has been little evidence that the team is actually in town. Bowden was hired in November but decided to run baseball operations from the team's Florida spring training facilities.

Last Saturday, outfielder-first baseman Brad Wilkerson and catcher Brian Schneider appeared for an autograph session at the Washington Convention Center, the only previous time Nationals players have appeared in town to promote the team's inaugural season in Washington.
