Remember the tortoise and the hare? What about the tortoise and the hippo? In Kenya, a male tortoise about 120 years old has adopted an orphaned hippopotamus. The baby hippo, named Owen after one of his rescuers, was taken to a refuge last month after being found in the surf. "He must have been pretty lonely after losing his family" because he immediately befriended the old tortoise, refuge director Paula Kahumbu said. Owen now sleeps and eats with the tortoise, which apparently has no name. Um, what about Daddy?
