Correction to This Article
An April 15 Sports article about Lake Braddock High School's 1-0 victory over Robinson the previous day in girls' soccer incorrectly attributed a quotation. It was Lake Braddock player Kristin Bowers, not teammate and sister Lindsay Bowers, who said, "This was definitely the best game for us in terms of putting everything together." The article also incorrectly said that Kristin Bowers assisted on the Lake Braddock goal. It was Lindsay Bowers who assisted on the play.

Yount was up to the task, saving seven shots. But the Bruins beat her 20 minutes into the first half for the goal that was the difference in a 1-0 Patriot District win at Lake Braddock last night.

With the Rams' primary keeper, Eliza Hattan, away with her club team, Yount faced a steady array of shots. The Bowers sisters forced the ball forward all game, with senior Kristin Bowers helping set up the Bruins' goal. She sent a pretty flick to midfielder Mary Jacocks, who passed it on to streaking forward Aline Le, who broke free from the defense to score.

Lake Braddock (4-1-1, 1-0-0) continued to press and outshot the Rams, 14-4.

"Tonight was a good indication of where we're headed," Lake Braddock Coach Liz Pike said. "We were definitely stepping forward in front of balls and keeping the possession."

The Bowers sisters said that they felt more comfortable last night than at any point during the season. Also Le, the only freshman on the Bruins' varsity team, continued her strong play. She has scored a goal in all the Bruins wins this year.

"This was definitely the best game for us in terms of putting everything together," said Lindsay Bowers.

Robinson (3-3-0, 1-1-0) was unable to string together many chances. Its best came midway through the second half when midfielder Ashley Reed put a strong cross through the box, but the Rams could not get the ball on goal.

"I don't think we tested their goalie enough tonight," Robinson Coach Jim Rike said.
