Aman was stabbed and hip-hop producer Dr. Dre was punched in the nose when a fight broke out at the second annual Vibe awards ceremony, held Monday night at a Santa Monica, Calif., airport hangar. The incident was not included in last night's television broadcast of the show. Witnesses reported that the melee involved dozens of people and started when an unidentified man attacked Dr. Dre as he stood to accept a lifetime achievement honor from rapper Snoop Dogg and producer Quincy Jones. The man who was stabbed was not identified, but officials said he was hospitalized in stable condition and police were looking for his attacker . . .

New York rock band TV on the Radio beat out rapper Dizzee Rascal and piano-playing chanteuse Nellie McKay, among others, to pick up the 2004 Shortlist Music Prize at an awards ceremony Monday in Los Angeles. The Shortlist honors artists whose latest albums are off the mainstream radar (they must have sold fewer than 500,000 copies when nominated) with a cash prize of $10,000.
