Alexandria Transit Co. (DASH)

The DASH bus runs throughout the city of Alexandria. It connects with all local bus systems as well as Metrobus, Metrorail and Virginia Railway Express.

Hours of operation: 5 a.m.-1 a.m. weekdays; 6 a.m.-midnight Saturdays; 7 a.m.-midnight Sundays.

Fares: Regular fare, $1. Free on ozone action days. Pentagon fare, $1.25. DASH pass, $25 monthly. Unlimited rides on all DASH routes. One-day pass, $3. Free transfers upon boarding. Children 4 and younger ride free with an adult (two children per adult). DASH will accept the regional one-day bus pass, Metrorail-to-bus transfer plus 25¢, Metrobus Flash Passes, combined Metrorail/Metrobus passes, VRE/MARC rail tickets and the pass for DASH's base fare and the Pentagon surcharge. Regional bus transfers and Metrobus tokens are accepted for the base fare. Metrobus tickets are accepted at face value. There is a Pentagon surcharge for those traveling to or from the Pentagon without a DASH pass or other valid pass. Metro student, senior and disabled fare media are not accepted on DASH.

Arlington Transit (ART)

Arlington Transit operates several buses within Arlington County. The system connects with Metrobus, Metrorail and Virginia Railway Express.
