Finding Providers of Human Services

Thursday, April 21, 2005; Page VA41

To locate human services organizations in the Fairfax area, use the county's Human Services Resource Guide. The Web address is www.fairfaxcounty.gov/rim.

The guide, which is maintained by social workers, includes more than 600 public, nonprofit and private organizations that provide human services. Generally, any public or nonprofit organization providing human services to county residents can be included in the guide, officials said.

Another source is Virginia's statewide human services information and referral network, which offers free information on sources of help by phone and on the Web. Call 800-230-6977 or visit www.novaregion.org/qgonline.htm.
