Contest 269:

Heaven and Hell

In California, if you've hit rock bottom through a life of wicked ways, you can rehabilitate yourself through a program that starts in the Mojave National Preserve and ends up in a town east of Stockton.

Name the two sites.

Deadline for Contest 269 entries is Friday, Jan. 14, at 10 a.m. Send entries by e-mail (travtrivia@ washpost.com; put "ETT No. 269" in subject field); fax (202-912- 3609); or U.S. mail (postcards only) to Extreme Travel Trivia, Washington Post Travel Section, 1150 15th St. NW, Washington, D.C. 20071). One entry per person. Winner chosen at random from correct entries.

In Contest 267, we reported that, after amending the city's baseball deal, the D.C. City Council flew to a bay on the southeastern shore of Barbados. Congratulations to Fred Geldon of Rockville, who wins a Travel mousepad for spotting Foul Bay.
