Outlook: This will be United's third and final exhibition of the season -- it previously defeated minor league Rochester (N.Y.), 2-0, in June and tied Nottingham Forest (England), 1-1, in July. . . . Coach Peter Nowak is expected to rest several starters and might give significant playing time to D David Stokes; MFs Nana Kuffour, Tim Lawson and Kevin Ara; and F Jason Thompson. MF-F Santino Quaranta, who has been sidelined nearly all year with injuries, could play. MF-F Freddy Adu, a reserve the past three weeks, likely will start. F Jaime Moreno (hamstring) won't play. . . .

Municipal of Guatemala City, founded in 1938 and regarded as the most popular club in Guatemala, has won 20 league championships and captured the CONCACAF Champions Cup in 1974. . . .

F Juan Carlos Plata is the all-time leading scorer for Guatemala's national team with 28 goals. Municipal's roster includes five other members of the national team: MFs Guillermo Ramirez, Claudio Albizuris and Gonzalo Romero, D Pablo Melgar and F Mario Rodriguez. Romero scored in a 1-1 tie with rival Comunicaciones last weekend. . . .

A pregame fiesta will take place in Lot 8 at RFK featuring music by Latin band Oro Solido. . . .

United will resume MLS play Saturday night against the MetroStars at Giants Stadium.
