. . . Taken in a Heavenly View

. . . taken in a heavenly view. While the shorter west towers are open year-round, the Gloria in Excelsis central tower at Washington National Cathedral is open only twice a year -- next Saturday and in September at the cathedral's open house. Once you've made it to the top of the 300-foot tower, you can gaze out over the sweeping vistas of springtime Washington and the events below at the 65th annual Flower Mart.
•
The Flower Mart, to be held Friday and Saturday, is sponsored by the All Hallows Guild to support the cathedral and its grounds. This year, the event is a celebration of Mexican culture, with food, entertainment, crafts and an antique carousel. The festival is open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Friday and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday on the cathedral grounds. Admission is free. Information is available at 202-537-3185.
