String Quartet Program Marks Spring Holidays
The Audubon Quartet will perform at 3 p.m. Saturday at CenterStage at Reston Community Center at Hunters Woods.
The group will play selections celebrating the Christian and Jewish holiday seasons of Easter and Passover, including Bach's "The Art of Fugue," Mendelssohn's "Theme and Variations" and Schubert's Cello Quintet.
The ensemble, founded in 1974, has won prizes in the International String Quartet Competition in Evian, France, the string quartet competition at the Festival Villa-Lobos in Rio de Janeiro and the International String Quartet Competition in Portsmouth, England.

Student Artwork Sought for Contest
Northern Virginia students in grades 10 through 12 are invited to submit artwork to the "Tapestry for Tomorrow" art show and contest sponsored by the Fairfax County Department of Community and Recreation Services.
Students in grades 6 through 9 can enter the competition and win prizes, but they will not be eligible for the cash awards of up to $400.
The competition is open to teenagers who live in Fairfax, Arlington, Loudoun and Prince William counties; the cities of Fairfax, Falls Church, Manassas, Manassas Park and Alexandria; and the towns of Herndon and Vienna.
Works in any media are accepted, including acrylic, photography, computer graphics, drawing and oil paint. The deadline for entries is 2 p.m. next Thursday.
Prizes will be awarded at a ceremony at 7 p.m. April 12 at the Fairfax County Government Center, 12000 Government Center Pkwy. Of the submissions, 100 will be chosen for display at the Government Center through April.
