Columbia Area


COLUMBIA RD., 4600 block, 7 a.m. March 9. A woman in Centennial Park argued between 2 and 6 a.m. with a female acquaintance, Natasha A. Bacchus, 31, of Stewartstown, Pa. The women fought physically and Bacchus was strangled. Her assailant allegedly drove the body to her residence on Columbia Road, where it was found by a resident, who called police. A few hours later, a 25-year-old woman was arrested and charged with second-degree murder, first-degree assault and second-degree assault.


CEDAR LANE AND FREETOWN ROAD, 10:12 p.m. March 10. A man knocked on the vehicle window of a male motorist and motioned for him to roll down the window. A second man came up, pulled out a handgun and demanded cash. The driver fled in the vehicle without handing over any cash.

CRADLEROCK WAY, OWEN BROWN VILLAGE CENTER, 11:45 p.m. March 9. Three males wearing dark clothing and boots robbed a male of cash.

FREETOWN RD., 6500 block, 6:50 p.m. March 14. Three males, one armed with a bamboo stick, accosted two males in the front lobby of a high school and demanded cash. One of the two males refused and was assaulted.

SANDCHAIN RD., 6300 block, 4:48 p.m. March 9. Three males wearing black ski masks on a bike path told a 15-year-old boy to get on the ground. The youth complied and was assaulted and robbed of cash.

STEVENS FOREST RD., 5700 block, 2:45 to 3:02 p.m. March 14. A male armed with a knife on a footbridge robbed a person of cash.


ALDERLEAF PL., 5700 block, 11:30 a.m. March 5 to noon March 8. Two computers were stolen from a residence entered by forcing a rear window.

BERGER RD., 9500 block, 6 p.m. March 14 to 7:;50 a.m. March 15. Cash and two tile saws were stolen from a business entered by forcing a front metal door.

OLD TUCKER ROW, 5400 block, 11:10 to 11:30 p.m. March 12. A man was observed attempting to open a storage unit by force. Police later arrested a man, age 23.

SETTING SUN WAY, 7400 block, 6:39 a.m. March 8. A man fled a residence after being noticed by a resident. A 19-year-old man of Frederick was later arrested nearby.

STANFORD BLVD., 8800 block, 11:45 p.m. March 14 to 7:45 a.m. March 15. A rock was thrown through a back-door glass at a restaurant. Nothing was reported stolen.
