• Frances dropped up to a foot of rain along Florida's central east coast, causing flooding. Roads were littered with downed trees and power lines.

• Electricity went out for more than 5 million people.

• Four people were killed in Florida: one in a car crash, two from fumes from generators and one in a tree-crushed mobile home. Two people were killed earlier in the Bahamas.

• About 2.8 million residents were ordered to evacuate before the storm hit.

• More than 100,000 people took refuge in Red Cross shelters.

• Airports in Miami and Fort Lauderdale reopened Sunday, but Orlando's and more than 20 others remained closed.

• Theme parks at Walt Disney World, Universal Orlando, Busch Gardens and Adventure Island were closed Sunday.
