Maj. Steven W. Thornton, 46, of Eugene, Ore.; Army Communications-Electronics Command, based at Fort Monmouth, N.J. Died April 18 at Camp Arifjan, Kuwait, from noncombat causes.

Total fatalities include four civilian employees of the Defense Department.
