LAND

• The Santa Cruz County Conference and Visitor's Council in Northern California is spearheading a lodging discount promotion this winter. For example, a three-night stay at a one-bedroom unit in Pelican Condominiums is $687 instead of the usual $874; taxes are 10 percent extra. Details: 800-833-3494, www.santacruz.org.

• Stay at the posh Hotel Jerome in Aspen, Colo., next week and receive a ski deal that includes a deluxe room and lift tickets. Room rate has been reduced from $700 to $480 per night, and deal includes two two-day lift tickets (worth $148 each) valid at Aspen's four ski areas. Bargain of the week

Independence Air is offering introductory fares of $89 each way on its new nonstop service between Washington Dulles and Las Vegas. Round-trip fare is $198 including taxes. Service starts March 1, and sale is good for travel through June 6. Purchase by Jan. 18 at www.flyi.com; bookings made through 800-FLY-FLYI are $5 higher.

• Several Small Luxury Hotels of the World properties in Europe are guaranteeing euro-to-dollar rates. Hotel Vernet in Paris, for example, has rooms starting at $290 per night double including taxes; regular rate is 290 euros (about $385). Other hotels include the Athenaeum in London and Hotel Art in Rome. Info: 800-525-4800, www.slh.com.

SEA

• Book a cruise on Expedia by Feb. 28 and receive shipboard credits of up to $600 and gift certificates worth $25 to $300. For example, a seven-day cruise on the Caribbean Princess leaving Fort Lauderdale , Fla., Sept. 3 is $749 per person double for an outside cabin, and each cabin receives a $100 ship credit and $75 gift certificate; taxes and fees are an extra $54 per person. • Viking River Cruises has discounted nine European river cruise itineraries by $400 per cabin. • Cunard (800-7-CUNARD, www.cunard.com)is offering free upgrades on April transatlantic sailings of the Queen Mary 2. Pay $1,799 per person double for an ocean-view cabin and get a balcony cabin (usually $2,969 per person).

AIR

• Fly to Hong Kong and to any or all of 17 cities in Asia starting at $1,099 with Cathay Pacific's 2005 All Asia Pass when you register in the airline's frequent-flier program. The pass, usually $1,299, includes round-trip air between any of several cities in North America (including New York) and Hong Kong, plus 21 consecutive days of air travel to the other qualifying cities, which include Singapore and Tokyo. Depart North America Feb. 15-May 13 or Aug. 17-Dec. 1. Extra travel days in Asia and summer departures cost extra. Pass must be purchased through a travel agent. Details: www.cathay-usa.com.

• BMI has round-trip fares of $265 on nonstop service from Dulles to Manchester, N.H., for travel through March 31; taxes about $105 extra. Purchase by tomorrow. Fare on other airlines is about $482. Info: 800-788-0555, www.flybmi.com.

PACKAGES

• Spend three nights in Salzburg, Austria, for $499 per person double, including round-trip airfare from Dulles. The deal from Austrian Airlines also includes three nights at the NH Hotel Salzbu and breakfast. Air taxes are an extra $146. Travel valid through March 24: 14-day advance purchase required. • Crown Travel's "Eco-Inca" seven-night package to Peru departing June 7 is priced at $878 per person double plus $140 taxes. Tour includes round-trip air from Dulles to Lima, internal flights between Lima and Cuzco, seven nights' lodging, transfers, breakfasts, one dinner, sightseeing tours and guides.
