The Postal Service has set up a toll-free phone line 1-800-ASK-USPS to help last-minute filers find 24-hour access to post offices and collection boxes with extended hours.

Some Washington-area post offices that have extended their hours to midnight include: the National Capitol Station on Massachusetts Avenue, Northeast; the main Silver Spring office on Second Avenue and the Alexandria office on Wythe Street.
