Timothy M. Kaine Unchallenged for the Democratic nomination in the Nov. 8 general election. Born in St. Paul, Minn. Former mayor of Richmond; elected lieutenant governor in 2001.
H. Russell Potts Jr. Independent candidate in the general election. Born in Richmond. Republican state senator representing Winchester for 14 years; sports promoter.
