Potomac Falls

There is a long history of inadequate enforcement of HOV rules in Northern Virginia. I suggest complaining to your state legislators. Their names and addresses are available through Loudoun County government at 703-777-0100 or http://www.loudoun.gov/government http:///state.htm . Request that the legislators increase the fines for violators to something more meaningful, such as $500 for a first offense and $1,000 for a second.

Then, write to the Virginia State Police commander in the Northern Virginia region, Capt. G. Michael Counts, PO Box 10900, Fairfax Station, Va. 22039. Tell him you want more enforcement of HOV lanes.

An Edge on Driving

Dear Dr. Gridlock:

Our son took part in the Driver's Edge course yesterday at FedEx Field. What an amazing program!

All new drivers should definitely experience this. It is a hands-on program taught by professional instructors who really understand the teenage psyche.
