Good sign for the Wizards: After missing his first 11 shots in Game 2, Hughes looked confident and comfortable. When he knocked down a jumper from the corner to give the Wizards a 28-27 lead early in the quarter, Hughes already had 10 points, while Wade had eight. Another promising sign: Miami continued to turn the ball over at an alarming rate. After a total of 33 turnovers in Games 1 and 2, the Heat already had nine at the 8:27 mark of the second quarter. Another bad sign for the Heat: At the 6:28 mark, Mourning looked gassed. When Wade finished a fast break by flipping in a tough runner off the glass to give the Heat a 34-32 lead, Mourning, who played a total of 24 minutes in Games 1 and 2, hadn't even crossed half court. Things only got worse for Mourning as he picked up his third foul at the 2:31 mark. This brought Michael Doleac into the game. Meanwhile, a full blown trend had emerged. Whenever Wade was allowed to go left, he usually hit a jumper or got to the basket. When he was forced right, he either turned it over or got cut off.
