Gilbert Arenas came out and aggressively attacked the basket while Brendan Haywood was an active presence at both ends of the court. Haywood, who rarely established strong post position against Alonzo Mourning in Game 3, posted him up and made a jump hook to give the Wizards an early 7-2 lead. Haywood later added a dunk on an assist from Arenas and sparked a fast break by sliding over and blocking a Dwyane Wade shot. Mourning picked up his second foul with 5 minutes 53 seconds left when Arenas again drove hard to the basket. Miami hung around despite six turnovers because Wade started to assert himself late in the quarter. Even though the Wizards double- and triple-teamed him, Wade appeared able to get his shot off whenever and wherever he wanted.
