Mark Walsh , managing partner at Ruxton Associates LLC, an investment firm, has joined the University of Maryland's Robert H. Smith School of Business as a senior executive fellow. Walsh will work at the Dingman Center for Entrepreneurship, advising graduate students on business development.

Walsh previously was chief executive of Air America Radio. He also was chief technology adviser for the Democratic National Committee and the head of Internet operations and strategy for Sen. John F. Kerry's (D-Mass.) presidential campaign.

Melwood, a nonprofit social services agency in Upper Marlboro, named Thomas P. Roberts as director of government relations for the Melwood Training Center. Roberts holds a bachelor's degree in political science from the University of Virginia, a master's degree in divinity from Princeton Theological Seminary and a doctorate in ethics from the University of Southern California.
