Best Matchup: If both teams win tomorrow, Oakton at W.T. Woodson would face off in a region semifinal featuring contrasting styles Wednesday. Oakton has two solid pitchers in seniors Evan Frederickson and Bryan Kidwell; seniors Mike Bianucci and Jon Quigley are the big hitters in W.T. Woodson's lineup.

Sherando (16-4) is peaking down the stretch thanks largely to pitcher Matt McCarty, who was named AA Northwestern District player of the year.

Best Matchup: In the semifinals, Lake Braddock will face the defending state champion in W.T. Woodson, which has not lost to a Northern Region opponent since March 31. Lake Braddock lost to Robinson in the Patriot District final, but has outlasted the Rams in regionals thanks to a quarterfinal win over Concorde District champion Westfield.

Best Matchup: Osbourn Park (14-0) is trying to become the first Prince William County team to win the region title, but it may have to beat nemesis Albemarle in the final to do so. The Patriots have ended the Yellow Jackets' season the past three years.

Best Matchup: Osbourn Park went 14-1 this season despite losing 18 seniors and its coach from last year's squad, but to advance past North Stafford (12-2), the Yellow Jackets will need to play better than they did in the team's first meeting, a 14-0 Wolverines victory on April 7.

Best Matchup: Many expected Lake Braddock and W.T. Woodson to meet in the region final. But W.T. Woodson's loss to McLean in the Liberty District semifinals put the Cavaliers on the same side of the bracket as the Bruins, and they'll meet with a state berth on the line Wednesday.
