Sheryl Swoopes scored 16 points, helping the Comets extend their season-high winning streak to four with a 75-65 win yesterday over the slumping Charlotte Sting in Houston.
Swoopes, selected a starter for the all-star game, had 10 second-half points. She finished 6 of 11 from the field and had five assists.
Dominique Canty had 14 points on 6-of-9 shooting, Janeth Arcain added 12 and Michelle Snow had 11 for Houston.
· SILVER STARS 69, LIBERTY 57: Marie Ferdinand scored 17 points and San Antonio went on a 24-2 run in the final seven minutes in the home victory.
Ferdinand scored 11 second-half points for the Silver Stars, winners of two straight.
· SPARKS 86, MERCURY 63: Tamika Whitmore scored 12 points without missing a shot in the first half as Los Angeles won at home.
Whitmore finished with 16 points, and Lisa Leslie came up just short of her second career triple-double with 21 points, 11 rebounds and a career-high 9 assists.
