A Poetic Prescription

In the article headlined "Middleburg Weighs Resort Plan" [Loudoun Extra, June 30], Caroline Memery, the owner of A Little Something in Middleburg, said the town's water problems -- including frequent lack of pressure and discoloration -- have forced her to buy drinking water for the employees of her interior design gift shop.

"Dr. [Sheila] Johnson is going to make a beautiful inn, in keeping with the beauty of the countryside," Memery said.

My response, in verse:

"Country Doctor"

There's no more need to pout or frown

Since Doctor Johnson's come to town,

With pills aplenty for us all

(After all, the town is small.)
