Forced out of Mississippi by Hurricane Katrina damage, Tal Raboteau moved to Manassas to stay with relatives and attend Stonewall Jackson High School, where he joined the football team last week.

But Raboteau's run of misfortune continued Friday when the junior broke his collarbone in his debut with the Raiders, a 25-13 loss to Potomac (Va.).

"What he's been through in the last month I can't imagine," Stonewall Activities Director Ira DeGrood said.

Stonewall Coach Loren Johnson said Raboteau should return to the team in three to six weeks and that his family has decided that he will remain in the area for his senior year, as well. Raboteau is living with his cousin, Damien Thigpen, a freshman running back-defensive back.

Raboteau, who carried 11 times for 38 yards on Friday before getting hurt, is a full-fledged Raider -- he attended the team's film session Saturday and practice yesterday.

"We just wanted to support Tal as much as we possibly could," Johnson said.
