Hospice for the Chesapeake has been certified with a seal of excellence by the Maryland Nonprofits Standards of Excellence Program. The program recognizes nonprofit organizations for excellence in leadership, management, fundraising and financial practices.
Bruce Fleming of Annapolis has received the 2005 Award for Distinguished Prose from the Antioch Review. Fleming has been a longtime contributor to the magazine. "At the Army-Navy Poetry Play-offs," his first essay published in the review, appeared in 1991. His latest, "Why I Love Conservatives," was published in 2004. Fleming is a professor of English at the U.S. Naval Academy. His book "Annapolis Autumn" is scheduled to be published by New Press this month.
