WalkingTown DC on Saturday encompasses a variety of free, neighborhood walking tours in Capitol Hill, the downtown, Dupont Circle, Georgetown, Lafayette Park, Old Anacostia, the Southwest waterfront and U Street/Shaw. For locations and details, phone 202-661-7581 or visit .

Potomac Country House Tour this weekend features four residences, along with decor boutiques and boxed lunches. St. Francis Episcopal Church, 10033 River Rd., Potomac. Homes are open both days, noon to 5 p.m. Fee: $25; $20 in advance. 301-365-2055. .

Waterford Homes Tour and Crafts Exhibit is Oct. 7 through 9. From 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily, visit historic residences in the town and see work by artisans. Fee: $15, kids 12 and under free. 540-882-3085 or 540-882-3018. .

A Renovator's House Tour to benefit the Capitol Hill Cluster School will be held on Oct. 15, featuring restored properties on Capitol Hill. From 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Trover Shop, 221 Pennsylvania Ave. SE. Fee: $20. 202-547-2665 or 202-547-3336. .

"Annapolis by Candlelight," an annual event sponsored by the Historic Annapolis Foundation, takes place Nov. 4 and 5. From 5 to 9 p.m., take a self-guided walking tour of several private homes in the historic district.
