WHAT'S UP? DOCK. In Annapolis, it's two major boat shows, the nation's largest and oldest of their kinds.
The U.S. Sailboat Show, closing tomorrow at the City Dock, features Tania Aebi today (the first woman to circumnavigate the globe solo). Catch two more days of sailing apparel and gear vendors, and the world's largest display of multihulls (think catamarans or trimarans).
A week later along the same docks, spinnakers give way to sprockets with the U.S. Powerboat Show (Oct. 13-16). If "Vicem 52' Flybridges" and "Menorquin 130s" float your boat, come see 500 of their ilk in the water and another 200 ashore.
Sailboat: 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., $16. Powerboat: Thursday 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., Friday-Saturday 10 a.m. to 7 p.m., Sunday 10 a.m. to 6p.m., $16 to $30. About 30 minutes from the Beltway in Annapolis. 410-267-6711,http:/
