Today is the deadline for registering to vote in Virginia's general election Nov. 8. Here are some details:
APPLICATIONS Registration forms are available from local registration offices, many state government offices, armed forces recruitment centers, public libraries and Department of Motor Vehicles offices.
ELIGIBILITY You must be a resident of Virginia, a U.S. citizen and at least 18 years old by Nov. 8. The application must be approved by the local registration office. If the registration is accepted, a Voter Registration Card will be mailed to you.
THE CARD The Voter Registration Card identifies your districts and polling place. Present the card or an alternative form of identification at the polling place.
MOVING If you were registered but moved recently to another precinct within Virginia, you may vote this time in your former precinct unless your registration has been transferred or canceled.
