Three acclaimed Washington area whitewater paddling figures will enter the International Whitewater Hall of Fame in McHenry, Md., at the organization's inaugural induction ceremony tomorrow.
Bill Endicott of Bethesda, who was U.S. whitewater team coach for 16 years and coached athletes who won 27 gold medals in world championship, World Cup and Olympic competitions, will receive the hall's lifetime achievement award.
Two of his proteges, five-time world champion Jon Lugbill and two-time world champion Davey Hearn , will be installed as champions.
The ceremony starts at 6:30 p.m. at Wisp at Deep Creek Mountain Resort. Tickets are $25.
