FROST: LIFE AND CULTURE OF THE SAMI REINDEER PEOPLE OF NORWAY -- Opens Wednesday. A collection of 39 photographs by indigenous photographer Fred Ivar Utsi Klementsen documents the people now living in northern Norway, Sweden, Finland and the Kola Peninsula in Russia. RETRATOS: 2,000 YEARS OF LATIN AMERICAN PORTRAITS -- Opens Friday. Through Jan. 8. The first major exhibition to consider the traditions of portraiture in Latin America from a multinational point of view includes more than 100 painted and sculpted portraits from 76 museums and private collectors in the Caribbean, Central America, Mexico, South America and the United States. PALACE OF WONDERS: THE NEW GALLERIES OF RENAISSANCE AND BAROQUE ART -- Opens Saturday. The museum celebrates the 100th anniversary of its groundbreaking with the reopening of its original art space, the Palazzo. SEAN SCULLY: WALL OF LIGHT -- Opens Saturday. Through Jan. 8. The artist combines the formal traditions of European painting with the distinctly American abstract tradition in a series that builds from the artist's memory of ancient Mayan ruins he saw 20 years ago.
