An Arlington man died yesterday from injuries he suffered in a crash Friday morning in the Lorton area when a truck apparently pulled in front of him, Fairfax County police said.
Police said Thomas Paradiso, 46, was driving a 1986 Toyota pickup truck south on Backlick Road about 6:30 a.m. Investigators believe that a 1986 GMC dump truck, attempting to turn left onto northbound Backlick Road, crossed Paradiso's lane, and the pickup truck hit the rear of the dump truck.
The dump truck driver drove off but has since been identified, police said. His name was not released, pending the possible filing of charges. Paradiso was taken to Inova Fairfax Hospital, where he died yesterday.
